Sara Glojnarić’s music is intensely energetic and dense, driven by propulsive rhythms – yet at other times expansive and nostalgic, as if time had come to a standstill.
Born in 1991, Sara Glojnarić grew up in Zagreb and Samobor. From an early age, she moved effortlessly between different musical worlds. She attended concerts and gained insights into the classical music scene while simultaneously discovering her own digital sound world: at the age of six, she began experimenting with Magix Music Maker and samples.
From the very beginning, music was never confined to a particular style or medium. Instruments, electronic sounds, samples, pop culture and digital media naturally coexisted in her musical universe. This openness and curiosity continue to shape her work today.
In 2023, Glojnarić received the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation’s Composer Prize. Her work DING, DONG, DARLING!, premiered by the SWR Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Vimbayi Kaziboni, received the Orchestra Prize at the Donaueschingen Festival in 2024. In 2026, she received the Claudio Abbado Composition Prize.
Her upcoming projects include a new orchestral work for the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and a collaboration with the Deutsche Oper Berlin in the 2027/28 season.
